VOX is pleased to present the North American premier of Spectres, an exhibition by Belgian artist Sven Augustijnen from Saturday, May 11 to July 13, 2013.

The exhibition will open with a discussion with Patrick Beauduin, executive director of radio at Radio-Canada, on the issues surrounding Sven Augustijnen’s pratice and the history of Congo’s decolonization. Friday May 10, 2013 starting at 5:30 pm.

The exhibition features a documentary film as well as hundreds of photographs and archival material on Belgium’s colonial past and, more specifically, on the assassination of Patrice Lumumba, Congo’s first democratically elected prime minister.
