Trevor Gould lives and works in Montreal where he currently teaches sculpture at Concordia University.

He holds a National Art Teachers’ Diploma from the Johannesburg College of Art, South Africa, a BA in Psychology and Sociology from the University of South Africa and an MA dealing with issues in contemporary Canadian sculpture from Carleton University, Ottawa. He was also Stiftungs Professor at the Offenbach University of Art and Design, Germany, in 2003. Gould works from the insight that sculpture is a form of social material and that exhibitions are an essential aspect of cultural research. He has exhibited widely, both nationally and internationally, in venues such as the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal (2012, 2007, 1998), the XIII Biennale Internationale di Scultura di Carrara, Italy (2007), Casino Luxembourg (2006), the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (2005), the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa (2001), the Biennale de Montréal (1998) and the Johannesburg Biennale, South Africa (1995).
